Diego Giacometti

Bronze statue of a female golf player on a marble foot, after Giacometti

sold
33 cm H x 30 cm W x 10 cm D

Very refined expressionist bronze statue of a female golf player. The work is unsigned but reminds of the work by Diego Giacometti, (15 November 1902 – 15 July 1985) a Swiss sculptor and designer, and the younger brother of the sculptor Alberto Giacometti.

Diego used to be a caddy on golf courts in Switzerland in the 1920s and and inspried by those scenes, he loved making sculptures of golf players.

This bronze statue depicts a female golf player with a nice swing. The statue was mounted on a marble foot, with small damage to 1 corner, as illustrated on one of the pictures.
