Preparing our move to the Military Chapel

Since the opening of our gallery more than 1 year ago, we have built up a solid fan base in Bruges, and far beyond. Which is why we were convinced that we needed to stay in Bruges for the next episode of Le Salon de Léon.

So, when in January 2025 the City of Bruges communicated that they wanted to give the Military Chapel - in the Kartuizerinnestraat - a new destination and called upon candidates to submit their dossier, we immediately jumped on it.

The Chapel has so many assets: the building breathes history, has plenty of character, the light through the stained glass windows is beautiful, it's only 100 m away from the central Markt and Belfry and with its 300 m2 just perfectly sized.

We had to wait for weeks, biting our nails, but by mid April we finally got that call we had been hoping for: we had won the competition!!

In the meantime, the City of Bruges has emptied the Chapel and we are working hard with our creative team to develop a design and flow to make to our gallery not only a treat for the eye, but an experience that touches all your senses.
